Thefts from vehicles and open garages

We are hearing a lot of reports of thefts from vehicles parked in the driveway, and from open garages.

Standard advice:

Never leave anything valuable in your car.

Never leave your car unlocked in the driveway.

Never leave your garage door open even for a minute if you are not actually in the garage or driveway.

911 reminder:

Always call 911 for any crime report, in progress or after the fact.

Never omit to report any crime. Even if you think "there's nothing they can do", your call encourages the police to patrol Grand Oaks more often.

Do not be afraid to call 911 "because it might turn out to be nothing". If you see something suspicious, the police can decide whether it's really a problem. You're not required to make that decision. Just make the call.
